We’ve written about Large Lad Clothing, the Canadian brand making clothes for big guys in sizes XL to 6XL. Founder James Weir added new products to their fall collection while introducing more brands, a few with sizes to 8XL. The company sent us a box of clothing from their fall collection to try on.
Since I cover the short and wide spectrum of big men’s clothing, I asked my stylish friend (and beer drinking buddy) Aaron to try some of Large Lad’s offerings for tall and wide guys. As you can see from the photos, he obliged.
Aaron liked fit of the clothing from Large Lad, especially the shirts and outerwear. The puffer vest, pictured above is available in 5 different colors with sizes to 5XL.
I’m a fan of the casual but put together look of the Large Lad Clothing Ambassador Jacket ($88.50) and the Manchester Half-Zip Sweater ($82.50). This is a brand that focuses on the details, something you’ll notice in almost all of their clothing. Contrast piping on the sweater, concealed zipper pockets and adjustable cuffs on the jacket – just a few examples of smaller details that help make each item feel complete.
Practical, yet stylish, the Large Lad Auxiliary Jacket ($88.50) epitomizes the brand’s focus on great looking yet functional clothing that is made to last. Aaron said the fit was roomy without being too big, and that the look of the jacket was just his style. Buy it for yourself with sizes to 6XL in 4 different colors.
The Classic Denim Shirt ($58.50) is a classic that every guy should have in his closet. The shirt pictured above is the washed black variety, but you can also choose from light denim and dark denim as well.
Looking for something lightweight and short sleeved? Try the Leo Sport Shirt ($72.50). This shirt can be worn tucked or untucked, depending on your preference. With a bit of stretch fabric included, this is a shirt that will move with you.
Aaron is classing up a hoodie with an adjustable sleeve shirt ($62.50). The shirt can be converted from long sleeve to short arm straps that will hold up the sleeves. Perfect for warmer days and cooler nights.
No matter how you like to wear your pants, Large Lad has you covered. From big and tall chinos to jeans in a variety of fits, there’s something for everyone with waist sizes to 60 and lengths to 34. You can see Aaron’s pants above, and here’s me in a pair of jeans from Large Lad Clothing below.
Whether you’re looking for holiday gift ideas or something for your own wardrobe, Large Lad Clothing is worth a look. With quality construction and a classic, functional style, this is a working man’s brand that should be on your radar. Even TV shows are outfitting their actors in Large Lad.
