Our friends at Bear Skn have partnered with the Portland Lumberjacks rugby club to create a new and exclusive print. Part of the proceeds from the sales of this print go to the Lumberjacks RFC. If you’re unfamiliar with Bear Skn, they make super comfortable underwear designed for bigger guys with sizes to 6XL.
Inspiration for the print you see above didn’t come from the Lumberjack’s jerseys, as you might expect. According to Bear Skn Creative Director Bjorn Ryan-Gorman, it was all about the team’s scarf. “We made several concepts based on the team colors, jerseys and their scarf. When we took it back to the team, they really liked the print based on their scarf.”
Bjorn says they wanted to diverge from the norm with the new print. “I wanted a version using squares, but we wanted to take it in another direction than our usual plaid prints. It has a plaid print feel, but it’s different. Then we wanted it to pop and the bright green does exactly that.”
Based in (you guessed it) Portland, Oregon, the Portland Lumberjacks is an inclusive rugby club dedicated to learning, teaching and playing rugby; to forging new friendships; to celebrating others’ differences; and to giving back to the community through charitable and educational activities. All of which isn’t often seen in sporting organizations. Learn more about them at their website.
