In a world where solid extended size clothing options are few and far between, finding something new feels like a real victory. Girlfriend Collective, the sustainable, ethically-made activewear brand with sizes to 6X, is bringing us a win with their recently released men’s collection. We spent a few weeks testing some pieces from the Girlfriend Collective big & tall line, and here’s what we found.
There aren’t many ethical or sustainably-made big & tall clothing brands on the market, and Girlfriend Collective is both. The clothes you buy from the company are made from post-consumer water bottles, fishing nets, and clothing scraps. Even the packaging the clothes arrive in is recycled and recyclable.
We’re used to brands launching plus size collections that don’t offer the same styles as their smaller-sized lines. Not so with Girlfriend Collective big & tall. Whether you wear an XXS or a 6X, you’ll find the same options. The shorts are short. The tops are casual and relaxed.
The brand gives us something else we rarely get in big & tall clothing: color. Girlfriend Collective leans into earthy neutrals with a few bright pops, and it really works.
I tried out their Khaki Swish Half-Zip Windbreaker ($98) and found it to be lightweight and roomy, with a lot of attention given to detail. Choose from 6 colors and be sure to check their fit guide before ordering so you get the right size the first time.
I was pleasantly surprised by the way Girlfriend Collective big & tall fit me. After a few weeks of testing their Pace Short, it has become one of my favorite pieces of summer clothing. The shorts are comfortable, fit well, and look good – you can wear them all day. According to their fit guide, their 6X is a 57-59″ chest and a 52 waist.
With shorts, tops and a variety of activewear options with sizes to 6X, Girlfriend Collective big & tall is worth a try. See the brand’s current seasonal selection at their website by clicking here.
