Adam from Ireland asked: I’m looking for a spring jacket, nothing too expensive, any suggestions?

Thanks for the question, James. Take a look at Nordstrom’s spring jacket selection (with sizes to big 4X) for jackets in literally EVERY style imaginable.

Well, maybe not EVERY style, but you get the idea. Prices generally start around $80 and go up from there. If that’s not your thing, take a look at Altrec (with sizes to 5X) for something more outdoorsy, or Eddie Bauer spring jackets for something a bit more put together and mature, pictured below.

James asked: Hello. My name is James. Im 22 years old and I’m a bigger guy. I was trolling the internet on male modeling, and i came across your site. I was wondering if you knew where one could get into modeling as a big guy. Im definitely interested in it.

Well, James – it’s difficult to break into the industry. Why? Because with a few exceptions, the plus size male model is a myth right now. Big guys are even less represented in fashion than plus size women. There are, however a few places that employ plus size male models – such as Indi Denim and Brigitte Models in Germany. Not a lot of options.

Is this changing? I believe so. Even fashion writer (all stylish big gent) Corbin Chamberlin believes the tide is slowly turning. In our interview with him last week, he said as much. There are, however, some things brewing here when it comes to the plus size male model. I can’t say much more about it right now, but keep an eye on Chubstr and you might be pleasantly surprised.
