Keep Calm and Slow Food Asked: I am in desperate need of finding a colored jean or printed jeans. Is there ANYTHING out there for me? I’m a 46×32, and whenever I come close, it ends up that they stop at a 44… so close! When it comes to finding clothing for big guys that’s keeping up with current trends, you usually have to do a good bit of research. We did the dirty work for you, and found a few shops offering big and tall colored jeans:
Nordstrom: One of the things I love about Nordstrom is the fact that they regularly carry extended sizes. I can usually find what I’m looking for, or some similar variation of it, so this is one place I like to start my searches. It turns out that they do indeed have big and tall colored jeansin stock, with sizes ranging from 40 to 50. You’ll find brands such as True Religion, Dsquared2, Burberry Brit, John Varvatos, and Bonobos available, especially on the lower end of the size spectrum. On the higher end, you’ll only find True Religion and Dsquared2. There’s a bit of a price to them, so if you’re looking for a bargain, you’ll be out of luck.
MakeYourOwnJeans.com: If you’re up for it, you can try creating a pair of big and tall colored jeans from scratch at MakeYourOwnJeans.com. This is probably going to be the closest to exactly what you’re looking for, as the website offers red, yellow, brown, and a few variations of purple washes. These jeans are made to your exact specifications, so you’ll get colored jeans in the size you want if you’re willing to get your measurements and put together a pair through their site. You can get colored jeans from MakeYourOwnJeans.com for between $50 and $60.
Old Navy: The Old Navy big and tall section carries a limited selection of colored jeans in sizes to 48. If you are on a budget and want this type of jean, you can pick them up for around $32.00. Important – don’t use their search function to locate sizes at the end of the spectrum; that tool only searches up to 44. Strange, I know. Simply go to the big and tall section and search through the jeans. You’ll see the sizes available on the product page.
Dr. Jays: When it comes to patterned denim, the pickings are even slimmer. The best I could do for you on short notice was this gem from Dr. Jays. Camo print denim. Probably not what you were looking for, but here you go.
Ralph Lauren: I know you specifically said you were looking for a colored or printed jean, but this was too good to pass up. Ralph Lauren has a great big and tall section if you’re into their more upscale type of style. I found two pairs of chinos available in black, navy, red, and khaki with sizes to 58. Prices range from $98 to $115, but man – that kind of quality in extended sizes is difficult to find.
