The DXL fall 2019 campaign is out online and in stores and guess who got to be part of it? Me! There’s a short and wide guy featured in big & tall marketing, which isn’t something you see every day. Photos are up on the DXL website, their Facebook page, AND in the front window of their stores across the country.
We shot the campaign surrounded by amazing mountain views at a ranch in central Idaho. I worked with the crew at DXL and models Eric Wallace and Josh Dye. If you’re not following these guys on Instagram, you should be: @polymathicwallace and @joshdye57. It was a fun working and learning experience. Keep an eye out for a behind-the-scenes video in the next few weeks!
Back when I started Chubstr, there wasn’t much out there in terms of positive representation of bigger body types. There absolutely wasn’t anyone who looked like me being featured in fashion and apparel ad campaigns in the U.S. In the past few years, we’ve seen progress, with more realistic plus size male models being featured in stores and online. This is a trend I think we’ll see continue.
