Where's My Size, Burberry?

Where’s My Size, Burberry?

Welcome to the final installment of our September series, Where’s My Size. We’re taking a look at some big name brands and retailers and publicly asking the question we’ve asked ourselves a million times – where’s my size? The four companies you’ll find in this feature offer stylish clothing and a great shopping experience, but little to nothing in the way of extended sizes. Each week, we’ll present you with a brand or retailer, what they have to offer, and why we’d happily shop with them if they offered their products in a wider variety of sizes.

Where's My Size, Burberry?

We’re ending this September series with a look at Burberry, a brand that seems to be starting to understand that diversity in product sizing benefits everyone

Few brands are as iconic as Burberry. For more than 100 years, they’ve been creating innovative luxury menswear in the form of shoes, accessories, suits, and of course, coats. You’ve seen their clothing on celebrities and politicians, and there are some people out there who will wear nothing else. Yes, it’s pricey, but it’s well worth it.

Recently British Vogue reported a rumor that pop singer Adele was asked to be one of the faces of Burberry, as well as to design a plus size line for the brand. This would be a great step forward in offering more options for women, and it got us thinking, where’s our size, Burberry?

To be fair, Burberry does offer sizes to XXL in a variety of shirts, and the bespoke tool at Burberry.com offers coats in sizes to 50, so they understand that it makes sense to cater to a wider (no pun intended) audience. In fact, Nordstrom sells a handful of Burberry shirts in sizes to 3XB.

Though the selection is limited, it’s not often you see a brand of this caliber offering their clothing in extended sizes at all. Our hope is that the collaboration with Adele is more than just a rumor, and that it either includes some options for men, or signals that we’ll see a similar kind of collection in the future. We think it’s a pretty safe bet that big men will have more options from Burberry in the future.
