The Stylistic: Will Bland From St. Louis, Missouri

It’s been a while, but we’re back with a special installment of The Stylistic, a (usually) weekly feature that has us talking to a stylish gents to learn how they put together their look. Today we meet Will, from St. Louis, who was good enough to answer our questions and take part in our first ever Chubstr photo shoot. Thanks to photographer extraordinaire Abbie Rudolph for the amazing photos.

What is your name? William Bland, III (folks call me Will)

How old are you? 38

Where do you live? Maryland Heights, MO (a suburb of St. Louis)

What do you do? Sales Consultant for Verizon Wireless by day; musician by any other time

How would you describe your style? Simple but hip, but my wife defines it more than I do, because before her, I didn’t have much of a style at all, lol.

What are your favorite places to shop? Burlington Coat Factory (they have some good stuff in there, really), K&G Men’s Warehouse, Shoe Carnival (still gotta be economical)

Choose one or answer them all: Hobbies, Vices, Heroes?

    • Hobbies: Music (obviously)
    • Vices: I don’t really have one. I don’t absolutely have to do or have anything. I’ve learned to be content with what I do or don’t have
    • Heroes: Jesus and my dad

Is there any piece of clothing or accessory you couldn’t do without? I can’t do without: a hat. I love baseball caps and I really like having them around. That and sunglasses. (when I don’t lose them)

Do you have a style tip that works for you that you’d like to share with us? Tight is not always right. I’m a fairly big guy and I believe in having room and being comfortable without being sloppy or country-lookin’. I’ve also learned that black can sometimes do more harm than good. Sometimes a little color can do a lot for your own mood and self esteem. Drop the black sometimes.

There you have it, another edition of The Stylistic completed. Thanks again to Abbie from Abbie Takes Pictures for the amazing photos and of course to Will for taking the time to show us his style and answer our questions.
