Nakia Makes Friends, Shaves Beard for Movember

Nakia shaved for Movember
Our friend Nakia is taking part in Movember, the event held each year in November to spark conversation about prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health problems, while raising funds for men’s health programs. The event challenges gents to start clean shaven and let a mustache grow throughout the month. Like many people, Nakia has had to deal with personal loss due to cancer:

Cancer sucks. My father died from pancreatic cancer in 2009 and my little brother Diego is currently battling colorectal cancer. This Movember I’m committing myself to living a more healthy lifestyle and hopefully raising some money and awareness for men’s health issues.

At the beginning of the month, he shaved off the beard he’s had for so long and started fresh:

Since then, he’s been out and about spreading awareness and raising funds for Movember. Since then, he’s shared his November adventures on his page, mobro.co/nakia.

Movember is a great way to start conversations and raise awareness for some serious issue. Nakia is almost at his goal of $1000 – you can read more stories from his whirlwind month and help him reach his goal by donating at his Movember page: mobro.co/nakia. You can also keep up with Nakia on his Facebook page.
