Kristian Nairn is an actor and DJ who hails from Ireland. You probably know him from his most popular role, as Hodor in Game of Thrones. Don’t worry – if you haven’t watched the latest episode of GOT, we’re not going to spoil it for you.
For those of you unfamiliar with Game of Thrones (or the books), Hodor is a very large, lovable servant of Winterfell, who accompanies Bran Stark on his trip beyond the Wall. Yes, we’re aware that sentence probably creates more questions than it answers, so do yourself a favor and go watch the show. There aren’t a lot of characters on the show that could be considered straightforwardly caring and heroic, but Hodor falls into that camp. The most interesting part? Aside from a flashback, he only says one word throughout the entire show: Hodor. Over the years, he’s become a Game of Thrones fan-favorite.
In addition to his acting career, Nairn is also an accomplished DJ, playing sets in venues around the world, and touring with acts like Scissor Sisters and Calvin Harris. Check out his sets here. He’s making his way across the UK this year on the “Rave of Thrones” tour, if you’re lucky enough to be near any of the stops.
As if acting and music wasn’t enough, Nairn is also a huge fan of video games, specifically MMOs like World of Warcraft. Not only does he play regularly, he has a character in the game, has done voice work for it, and has a WOW related tattoo.
