British actor and Chubstr reader favorite James Corden is rumored to be taking over as host of CBS’ Late Late Show. Earlier this year, current host Craig Ferguson announced he would be leaving at the end of 2014, fueling months of speculation as to who would take his place.

If you’re wondering where you’ve seen him before, Corden’s credits include movies like Begin Again with Keira Knightly, TV shows such as Doctor Who, and the BBC comedy Gavin & Stacey, which he co-wrote in addition to playing the part of Smithy.

One Man, Two Guvnors

None of those ringing a bell? Maybe you recognize James Corden from his stage work in productions like The History Boys, or as Francis Henshall in One Man, Two Guvnors (the role our friend Aaron Muñoz recently took over for a run in Georgia). Between film, TV, stage, and hosting events (he’s hosted the BRIT Awards. A lot), chances are, you’ve seen Corden in action.

Though his pick for the job hasn’t been formally announced, sources are saying he’s a shoe-in for the gig and that we should get official confirmation soon. There were many voices online and in the media suggesting that CBS take this opportunity for more diversity in late night, but it looks as though those pleas may have fallen on deaf ears.
