Ian Karmel Joins Venus Williams, Keegan-Michael Key on New CBS Sports Comedy Game Show

Writer Ian Karmel will be joining comedian Bobby Lee as a panelist on the new CBS sports comedy show, Game On!, hosted by Keegan-Michael Key. According to the network, the show will be equal parts comedy and game show, with Venus Williams and Rob Gronkowski serving as team captains.

Game On! is based on the BAFTA-winning UK series A League of Their Own. Each week, the show will pit a rotating mix of comedians, celebrities and athletes against each other. The teams will take on over the top physical challenges, like facing off with a sumo wrestler, or seeing who can dunk the most basketballs over a tank of water while harnessed on a bungee cord.

Teams will also take on sports related trivia challenges that way beyond basic sports stats. “Which football player cried the longest after winning a championship?” These are the kinds of sports related questions I can get behind.

Game On! premieres Wednesday, May 20th at 8pm on CBS and CBS All Access, which you can try for free here.
