Short, furry and angry. These are adjectives that describe the Marvel comic book version of Wolverine. Short also describes actor Danny DeVito. There is, apparently, a petition on Change.org pushing for DeVito to play the character when he’s introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Why Danny DeVito? “[His] height is a lot closer to the comic books portrayal of Wolverine. With Danny being 4’10” and Wolverine 5’3″,” says Ring Arius, the petition’s creator. He also cites DeVito’s fighting skills as seen on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Watch the video above, you’ll get the idea.
Could the 75-year-old DeVito pull it off? Without a doubt. Remember when he played The Penguin in Batman Returns? Classic. You’ve got to have somebody solid follow Hugh Jackman’s portrayal, so why not subvert almost everyone’s expectations by going an unexpected direction?

As of this writing, over 50,000 people have signed the petition to (try to) make this happen. You can endorse the idea by signing the petition at Change.org here. In the meantime, get your Danny DeVito fix by watching him in Jumanji: The Next Level, out later this month.
