Summer is quickly coming to an end, and fall fashions are starting to pop up at many of your favorite stores, but this is one of the best times to pick up some warmer weather clothing. Shorts, for example are being heavily discounted in order to make room for more seasonally appropriate clothing. Besides, some of us live in areas that require you to deal with sweltering temperatures well into October!
We scoured the internet for some of the best deals available on shorts in extended sizes. Below you’ll find a few of our favorites in a variety of styles. Click a photo to get a better look at the pair of shorts you like.
Macy’s Back to School sale is going on right now, and even if you’re not a student, you can still take advantage of discounts of 25% – 65% off. The Macy’s website offers a ton of shorts in different styles with sizes to 5X/60 for you to choose from. We’re partial to the Tommy Bahama Ashore Thing Shorts (pictured), available to size 46 for $89, and the Dockers D3 Soft Khaki Shorts, with sizes to 60 for $17.99.
The sale extends to shirts, jeans, shoes, and just about any other item of clothing you might be looking for, so you can create a full outfit for not a lot of cash.
Though J.Crew doesn’t offer a lot of options for larger gents, if you’re one of our readers with a waist size of 42 or below, you’ll like what you see. Through tomorrow, they’re giving customers 30% off all shorts and swim for men, women, and kids, meaning you’ll need to act fast if you want to get the discount. Both the 9″ Essential Chino Short and the 11″ Broken-In Chino Short are available to size 42 starting at $30 and $35 respectively. For our money, we’d go with the Essential Chino.
J.Crew offers clothing to size 43 waist and XXL tops in very limited quantities.
Eddie Bauer is getting in on the action with up to 70% off items in their summer clearance sale. You can choose from a decent selection of shorts with sizes to 48 waist. The Classic Fit Golf Shorts ($30) are a bit dressier than the last two options, but they still offer the kind of comfort you want in a big and tall short. They’re breathable, lightweight, and dry quickly, so they’re good for most any situation.
The Classic Fit Golf short is available in khaki if you’re not in you’re not interested in the black.
