Help Etnies Grow a Rainforest

Buy a Pair of Etnies and Save the World

Etnies is doing their part to help save the Costa Rican rainforest, and now you can get in on the action. As part of their “Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree” project, every pair Jamieson 2 Eco shoes sold means a tree will be planted in Costa Rica in what will become the Etnies Rainforest. Etnies has teamed up with the Maleku, a native Costa Rican Tribe, and La Reserva Forest Foundation to reach their goal. Much of the rainforest in the area has been lost to reforestation, and this is one way you can help give back. You can learn more here.

Etnies Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree

What kind of impact can this rainforest have on the world? According to Etnies:

The Etnies Rainforest will absorb approximately 6,930 tons of CO2 from the Earth’s atmosphere throughout the trees’ lifetime. To put it visually, this represents 465,051,360 etnies shoe boxes worth of CO2, placed end-to-end and wrapped around the earth more than three and a half times.

Not only will you be doing your part to help make the world a little bit better, but you’ll also get a good looking pair of shoes out of the deal. The Jamieson 2 Eco is made of natural canvas and recycled rubber, keeping with the eco-friendly theme. Available sizes run from 5 – 14 and can be purchased through the etnies website for $55. If brown isn’t your color, you can choose from 7 total color combinations.

Similar to the Toms Shoes one for one campaign, Etnies is stepping up and doing something to give back. If you’re looking for a pair of decent looking sneakers, consider doing some good and picking up a pair of Jamieson 2 Ecos shoes from Etnies.
