NAAFA, the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance has chosen May 2021 as the very first Fat Liberation Month, and the organization is celebrating it with a variety of events happening all month long. Events cover topics such as fat self care, working to end weight stigma in spiritual and religious realms, fat justice issues, and more.
Speakers include writer and activist Marilyn Wann, Brandie Sendziak of the Fat Legal Advocacy, Rights, and Education Project (FLARE), photographer Spencer Pablo of However Chubby, Aarti Olivia Dubey of Curves Become Her, and more.
