Have you heard about Fattitude, the documentary exploring the relationship between pop culture and body size? This long-gestating project has been premiering in cities around the country, and if you’re in Los Angeles or New York City in the next few weeks, you can see it for yourself.
The film features a wide array of people representing all corners of the fat acceptance and body positive movements, such as Virgie Tovar, Tess Holliday, Substantia Jones, Jefferey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra, Jes Baker, Marilyn Wann, and me, among a host of other people.
In L.A., Fattitude will be showing at the LA Femme International Film Festival on Saturday Oct. 21 from 4-6 pm. You can buy tickets here.
For you east coasters, you can catch the film Thursday, November 2nd from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at the United Artists Court Street 12 & RPX in Brooklyn. The premiere is sponsored by and benefiting the Binge Eating Disorder Association, or BEDA. Get tickets right here.
