Plus Size For is a new apparel company offering extended size clothing featuring progressive designs and slogans with sizes to 6XL. The company launched earlier this month with designs featuring the remaining 2020 Democratic primary candidates, universal healthcare and more.
When you can’t find what you’re looking for, you create your own thing. That’s just what co-founders Jamie Carle and Rebecca Alexander (Rebecca also founded AllGo, the accessibility app for plus size people) decided to do. “This summer, I really wanted to wear a pro-Elizabeth Warren shirt to a couple of debate watch parties, but I simply couldn’t find one I liked in my size. Not on Senator Warren’s site, not on Etsy, not anywhere,” Alexander said.
“The results of the 2016 election really disturbed me. I knew I wanted to get more involved this time around. Helping plus size people express themselves politically and raising money for Fair Fight was a great way to do that,” said Carle.
The Plus Size For website offers an assortment of t-shirts, hoodies, bags, mugs and even onesies featuring democratic primary candidates. If that’s not your cup of tea, check out the universal healthcare section, or pick up a sweatshirt featuring The Squad. The company plans to release more designs as the 2020 election gets closer.
10% of Plus Size For’s will go to Fair Fight, an organization founded by Stacey Abrams combating voter suppression efforts around the country. See everything the company has to offer at their website.
