Help Pudge PDX Fund a Plus Size Pinup Calendar

Pudge PDX, a Portland, Oregon based body positive, fat positive and queer positive nonprofit is trying to raise funds for a plus size pinup calendar. According to their IndieGoGo campaign, this is the first of many projects they have in mind with a goal of helping to promote body acceptance:

Body acceptance is a radical concept. Accepting your body, exactly the way it is. We love our bodies, just the way they are, and we want to share this amazing experience with you.

The photos have already been taken, costs have been estimated, and the entire calendar has been plotted out. Now, Pudge PDX needs your help funding production costs. They’re asking for $10,000 to cover production, packaging and shipping costs of 1000 to 2000 professionally printed, 12×12 glossy calendars and any perks for folks who contribute to the campaign.

Contributors can choose from 13 levels of perks, from a whopping $5000 which will get you into the 2016 calendar and make you the launch party guest of honor, all the way down to a $1 perk, which includes a hug, high five, or we’ll touch your butt! (local residents only)” If they’re able to raise more than $10,000, they will be able to order more perks that will be sold on pudgepdx.com just in time for the holidays.

Pudge PDX!

Pudge PDX are a group of diverse individuals who strive to promote this unheard of idea of loving yourself completely. They believe that body acceptance is something that should be shared with everyone, which is something we can get behind. Even if you can’t contribute, there are other ways you can help out, such as sharing the campaign via social media, volunteering (if you’re in the area), or starting your own body positive community wherever you live.

A portion of the proceeds of calendar sales will be donated to Basic Rights Oregon because their organization works to protect and fight for the rights of fat, gay/trans*, disabled, and “othered” people.

This is only the first of many projects that Pudge PDX has planned for the future. Later in the year, they hope to start outreach programs targeted at plus size women and eventually teens so that they can spread the Pudge love.
