Hands On With the JORD Wood Watch

JORD Wood Watches (and Lunch)

JORD Fieldcrest Zebrawood Wood Watch

I’m picky about watches. From size and color, to shape and weight, I’m selective, to say the least. Generally, I stick with a tried and true favorite, but when JORD sent over their Fieldcrest Zebrawood Wood Watch ($120), I knew it would quickly enter into my rotation. Normally, when you think of a watch, wood isn’t the first material that comes to mind but JORD creates “hand crafted wood watched that tell a story” with 100% natural wood. They’re unique and easily set themselves apart from the crowd.

Wooden Watch Review

How Does a Wood Watch Feel?

The watch is substantial without being too heavy or bulky. It sits nicely on the wrist and keeps a low enough profile to slip under a shirt sleeve without any trouble. One of the interesting factors of a wood watch is that the wood wears and breaks-in like any organic product (think of a leather wallet.) The more you wear the watch, the more unique and truly “yours” it becomes, developing a unique patina over time.

As we head into fall, the warm earthtones found in the Fieldcrest Zebrawood Watch incorporate perfectly with colors of the season including khaki, olive, burnt orange and deep reds. My personal favorite is how the watch looks against a deep navy and denim. The wood grain plays nicely off the texture in the denim. The watch is best worn with a casual outfit, but would contrast nicely in a more formal setting showing a peek at the wearer’s personality.
