Do the New J.Crew Sunglasses Fit Big Heads?

J. Crew Sunglasses for Big Heads

Good news if you’ve been pent up inside during Snowpocalypse 2016 and El Nino: J. Crew has a new line of sunglasses for your Vitamin-D-hungry faces. They’ve always had third party brands of sunnies like Ray-Ban available to top off the perfect outfit for a perfect day, but now it’s personal. This line has the J. Crew name on it.

The Jack, Sam, and Irving are three of six new shades of shades by the retailer. The styles aren’t breaking any fashion barriers. But as the J. Crew tradition goes, they offer classic cool with a modern feel.

J.Crew Jack Aviator Sunglasses

The J.Crew Jack Aviator Sunglasses

Jack, the Classic Aviator

The Jack is a common aviator. Instead of mirrored lenses that would require to you have a strong mustache, Jack is ready for a sweet spring with a variety of frame and lens colors. Black frames with a dark mustard lens, silver and blue, or gold and sage.

This style is recommended for wider faces, as the stainless steel is flexible enough to have some give, but still durable. Jack retails for $98.00. I am Jack’s shaded eyeballs. PS, the lady version of these is quaintly called Jill.

J.Crew Irving Sunglasses

The J.Crew Irving Rectangular Sunglasses

The Irving, for a Clean, Rectangular Shape

The Irving is a thicker frame with a “clean, rectangular shape” in four colors. Blonde and dark tortoise, blush crystal (clear), and black. I’d be hard pressed to choose which of these I like best. Listen, if you’re going to choose black, STOP. It’s time you tried one of the torties. Tortoise looks good on everyone and goes with everything. Clear frames are a bolder choice. Irving retails for $118.00.

J.Crew Sam Sunglasses

The J.Crew Sam Rounded Sunglasses

The Sam, For a Rounded Pair of Sunglasses

The Sam rounds out the new line (pun intended), perfectly harnessing the current circular frame trend. You can choose from two more unique tortoise colors, but the neon persimmon and navy blue will keep you cool through summer. Sam retails for $128.

These glasses are all offered as unisex, and the other three styles, Jill, Betty and Ryan are labeled as women’s styles. But really, if you’re feeling an oversized cat-eye frame, we aren’t going to be the ones to stop you.

Which is your favorite?
