It’s always cool to see our readers out there creating things and sharing them with the world. Lester Sawers is one such gent, having just launched his men’s grooming line, For The Bearded. Specializing in beard creams, oils, and waxes, the brand offers products that are made for everyday use. Lester sent me some of his products to try out, and here’s my verdict.

For The Bearded products are made with natural ingredients such as shea butter and jojoba oil to condition and moisturize your beard, while vegetable glycerin is thrown into the mix to add shine and help manage tangles. The beard oil feels less oily than you’d expect, which can be a welcome escape from the more traditional type of oils you might be used to.

How’s it Smell?

I’m most impressed by the way For The Bearded products smell. Of the two scents currently available, the musky and slightly citrusy scent of Red Rocks is my favorite, hands-down. I’m one of those people who finds that scents of any kind don’t really stay with me throughout the day, but their beard oil and conditioner actually does. As I’m writing this, it’s 4pm and I applied the conditioner at 7:30am. I can still smell it without it being overpowering.

Lester tells me that his goal with For The Bearded was to make products that you could wear daily, like you would deodorant or body spray. He plans to add more scents (and products) down the road, so don’t be surprised to find seasonal fragrances and new offerings added to the site.
