Though sometimes it seems to move at a snail’s pace, the men’s plus size clothing industry is growing. Over the past few years, we’ve started to see small, independent brands pop up, selling underwear, denim, and t-shirts in extended sizes. Fort Lauderdale, FL based Colasso is one such brand, putting their focus on big and tall men’s casual menswear (read: tees) with true-to-size items at prices that won’t break the bank.
We caught up with owner Stanley Cadet to talk about cutting a quality t-shirt, how collaboration influences their design, and what other types products we can expect to see from the brand in the near future.
How long has Colasso been around?
For a year.
How are your shirts different from other big and tall tees on the market?
Our offerings include unique designs with a multitude of colors to choose from, [which is] not common in big & tall clothing. We compliment that with something else you don’t see that often in big and tall clothing: high quality shirts with a true-to-size cut at an affordable price.
What sizes does do you carry?
We offer sizes S-5X & Tall Sizes XLT-3XLT.
How do you choose your t-shirt designs?
We design what inspires us. [As we] collaborate with others, we’re being influenced by what we are, what we experience & what we’ve seen in our environments. We try to express that through the designs we offer.
Do you have plans to expand your product offerings in the future?
We plan to roll out hoodies and crewnecks, long sleeve and raglan t-shirt variations, plus accessories such as hats and sunglasses.
