Big Gay Ice Cream began in the summer of 2009 selling soft serve to hungry New Yorkers from their ice cream truck. Today they not only serve sweets from the truck, but also from their permanent location at 125 East 7th Street between 1st Avenue and Avenue A. At BGIC, you’ll find tasty, unusual and creative concoctions, such as the Salty Pimp (vanilla ice cream, dulce de leche, sea salt, and chocolate dip), the ginger curry shake, and a variety of rotating flavors, such as beet soft serve.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg – you can add toppings like olive oil and sea salt, cardamom, or wasabi pea dust in order to create whatever sort of beastly concoction you’re in the mood for, or you can let the good folks at Big Gay Ice Cream suggest a treat for you. Follow them on twitter @Biggayicecream or on Facebook.
