Meet Fattees – Fun, Stylish T-shirts to 5XL

Body of a god tee from Fattees

JD Dowell has been on the hunt for shirts that reflect his style and sense of humor for a long time. After searching and coming up empty handed, he decided to strike out on his own and create a line of t-shirts that reflected his personality. Thus, the idea for Fattees was born. According to the Fattees Facebook page, the idea is to create “humorous and stylish gear targeted at those that love our double-XL bodies.” Dowell liked the idea so much that he decided to put it up on Kickstarter in order to get some funding for a first run of designs.

“I grew tired of never finding tees that express my particular brand of humor; the same brand of humor that most of my fellow 2XL’ers share, I decided to start my own brand and express that humor.” says Dowell. “Shopping for anything clever or trendy; in a double-X, is almost an impossible task. With my mounting frustration, it occurred to me that I should just take matters into my own hands. I’ve set out to come up with a brand that allows those of us to express ourselves and the level of our okay-ness. A brand that can be a badge of honor that says, ‘You don’t get to tell me that I’m not awesome!'”

To reach his goal, JD Dowell needs to raise $1500 by July 18th. This will allow him to create the first three designs with sizes available to 5XL. Once this first run is created, he plans to add even more designs to the collection. Kickstarter backers will have access to additional goodies, such as postcards, signed t-shirt design prints, and the chance to be a model on the Fattees website, depending upon their contribution amount.
