A few weeks ago, I received a call from my Mom, “Have you been watching The Voice? There’s a contestant on the show that looks just like you!” I headed to the internet to find my Doppelganger, and sure enough, she was right. Austin Jenckes (pronounced Jinx,) grabbed the country’s attention with his soulful voice and guitar pickin’ skills on NBC’s The Voice, where he made it all the way to the top 8. Sadly, he was eliminated last week, but his good looks and talent make him this week’s Man of the Week.

Though he hails from Duvall, Washington, Jenckes moved to Nashville to further his musical career. He’s been making music for a few years now, starting with 2010’s The Vita EP, through last year’s An American Story. With The Voice behind him, Jenckes tells Entertainment Weekly that he’ll be embarking on a West Coast tour in January.

Below you can watch video of a song Jenckes wrote with Brian Pounds, another contestant from The Voice, right before they were going to be competing against each other on the show’s Battle Round.
