Gray's Papaya, NYC

There’s nothing quite like a really good hot dog. If you’re a frank connoisseur then you probably know that NYC’s Gray’s Papaya has been serving up some of the best hot dogs around since 1973. You can get the recession special – 2 franks and a 14oz drink for about $5 – not bad for a quick lunch or after bar snack. The dogs aren’t the only reason to visit Gray’s Papaya – the drinks are some of the best in town. Obviously, you’ll want to try the papaya drink, but don’t skip the pineapple juice, pina colada, or the coconut champagne.

At the least, visit Gray’s Papaya for its place in pop culture. If you’ve seen Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, How I Met Your Mother, or Castle, you’ve probably seen a Gray’s location. If you’re looking for tasty hotdog that won’t cost you a lot of money, this is the place for you.
