Thing of the Week: The Nerdist, Odd Soul, and The Handbook Of Style

It’s Friday and that means another Thing of the Week. We come across a lot of interesting products, services, and ideas throughout the course of the week, and they don’t always fit into articles we’re writing for the site. Thing of the Week is the place for us to share those items, whatever they are, with you. Some of them are related to the things you’d expect to find at Chubstr, while some aren’t. You never know what you’ll find.

Brandon: My thing of the week is Odd Soul; the new Mutemath album that will be available October 4th (you can preorder it here or here). I can’t stop listening to the new single, “Blood Pressure” or the first one they released, also called “Odd Soul.”  Their previous two albums were great, and I’m really looking forward to this one. Here’s the video for “Odd Soul.”

Esquire: The Handbook of StyleBruce: Esquire The Handbook of Style: A Man’s Guide to Looking Good is what I’ve been fixated on this week, and I recommend it to anyone interested in creating a unique style for themselves. The gents at Esquire took their combined knowledge of style, broke it into sections and put it all in this pretty handy book.

Unlike many similar books, this one is easy to follow and gives you the foundations you need to create (or refine) your look. You’ll find stories, tips and information on everything from the appropriate trouser for every occasion, to how to use your facial hair. They even include a personal sizing chart to write your measurements on and keep in your wallet. You’ve got to know the rules to break them, and this book gives you everything you need to create a look that suits you perfectly. You can get it for $10.80 at Amazon.
